Job specification

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients receiving peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatment.
• Educate patients and their families on PD procedures, infection control, and home dialysis management.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive care approach.
• Perform and document patient assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR).
• Train and support patients in managing self-care dialysis treatments at home.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as infection control standards.
• Provide emergency interventions as needed in response to patient conditions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot peritoneal dialysis equipment to ensure safe and effective treatments.

Candidate requirements

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Kentucky.
• Minimum of 1 year of dialysis nursing experience, preferably in peritoneal dialysis.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
• Strong patient education and communication skills to support home-based dialysis patients.
• Ability to work independently and provide patient-centered care.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
