TAX ACCOUTANT

Well established local CPA firm in Irvine, CA. seeks a Tax Accountant. Candidate must live wihin a commuting distance and work 100% in the office with no hyvrid or remote work available. The firm offers a business casual work environment with a reasonable work life balance and overtime paid at time and one half. Only locally based candidates immediately authorized to work in the U. S. will be considered for this role. CPA or EA preferred, however, a seasoned pro with good stability and no degree may also be considered.Description Summary : Tax Accountants are given a wide variety of diversified accounting and tax assignments under the supervision of different professionals. Performance is judged based on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to meet time constraints. Essential Functions : Prepares payroll tax, sales or other local tax and certain personal income tax returns. Prefer experience with S corps, fiduciary, and fairly complex high net worth individual returns.Compiles work papers and other accounting reports.Understands technical tax issues and applies Internal Revenue Code and tax regulations to client situations.Provides current information on progress of assigned tasks to the immediate supervisor and suggest improvements in methods of accomplishing the purpose of the assigned task. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to complete work in an efficient and accurate manner.Proficiency with computer, spreadsheet software program, and calculator.Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.? At least 3 years (not internships) of experience in a licensed CPA firm is required. Success Factors : Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.Proactively seeks knowledge, new tasks and responsibilities.
