Description: Position Summary
The Cleaning & Restoration Technician plays a key role in restoring homes and businesses affected by water, fire, or environmental damage. This position requires hands-on field work, operation of specialized cleaning and drying equipment, and strong customer-facing skills. Technicians are the face of the company-representing with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity while also helping to build customer loyalty and strengthen community awareness.
Responsibilities
• Respond to cleaning and restoration calls including water extraction, drying, mold remediation, and fire/smoke cleanup.
• Perform carpet, tile, and upholstery cleaning using company equipment and cleaning solutions.
• Safely operate drying and restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, extractors, etc.).
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times.
• Drive company vehicle safely between jobs and transport equipment as needed.
• Document work performed with photos, notes, and time logs.
• Communicate courteously and effectively with customers, providing updates and explanations of work performed.
• Promote the Voda brand through professionalism, excellent service, and a personable attitude that builds repeat business and referrals.
• Identify and report potential additional services or opportunities that can benefit the customer, helping to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Be available for emergency response, including some nights and weekends as needed.
Requirements
• Valid driver's license with no DUI, accidents, or tickets within the last 3 years (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in a variety of environments.
• Professional appearance, punctuality, and dependability are essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - must be personable and customer-oriented.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional emergency calls.
• Previous experience in cleaning, restoration, or construction required (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
• IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Experience with water damage mitigation, mold remediation, or fire restoration.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation.
• Sales or customer service background is a plus.
