The assembly production supervisor is responsible for overseeing the assembly / production processes associated with our printed circuit boards (PCBs) and value add processes, e.g., SMT, hand and / or machine soldering of components / hardware, mechanical assembly, coating and encapsulation materials, up to an including Test and FQC areas. The primary function is the supervision or oversight of a team of assemblers, technicians and inspectors, to ensure quality and efficiency of the assembly processes. Key duties include scheduling and coordinating work, training staff, inspecting completed assemblies, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring adherence to quality control standards and safety procedures. This position will work as a liaison between planning, engineering, quality, and production staff to ensure seamless operations, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Supervise, train, and mentor assembly line workers, conduct performance evaluations, and manage staffing needs, including hiring and promotions.
- Plan and schedule work assignments to meet production goals, coordinate with other departments, and manage workflow to optimize productivity and efficiency. This includes close integration with our Planning Teams and regular meetings and tie offs as scheduled.
- Ensure products meet specifications by inspecting assembled boards and implementing and maintaining strict quality control measures.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot assembly issues, and ensure equipment is maintained and meets safety and productivity standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, and implement best practices like Lean Six Sigma to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, quality checks, and inventory. Prepare production and other reports as needed.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, to transition new products into production and implement design improvements.
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements :
Previous experience in PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing.1-2 years of prior supervisor experience.Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, proficient with using the internet.Strong leadership and people management skills.Knowledge of relevant assembly techniques, quality standards, and safety procedures.Problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work effectively with other departments.Amphenol offers a competitive salary and benefits.
