Outreach Graduate Assistant - Enrollment Management
Job Overview :
The Outreach Graduate Assistant (GA) is a project-focused role essential to maximizing attendance and engagement for all Admissions events and programs. This position handles a broad range of responsibilities in the office, spanning from high-volume, evening-shift call center operations to essential administrative support for recruitment initiatives. The GA is responsible for executing targeted outreach campaigns to prospective and admitted students and for assisting with campus visit and enrollment event planning. Due to the nature of student engagement, this role requires a primary commitment to late afternoon and evening work hours.
Key Responsibilities :
- High-Volume Call Center Operations : Serve in a primary call-center role, placing outbound calls to prospective students, their parents, and school counselors. This includes frequent evening shifts (e.g., 4 : 00 PM - 8 : 00 PM).
- Event Outreach and Promotion : Conduct strategic outreach via phone, email, and text to encourage attendance at high-priority events (e.g., Open Houses, Admitted Student Days, Receptions).
- Project Management and Administrative Support : Serve as a versatile support resource for various recruitment projects as needed. This can include managing data entry, organizing event materials, and assisting with event logistics.
- Communication and Follow-up : Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries received through phone, email, and live chat, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Event Day Support : Provide on-site support for major admissions events, assisting with registration, guest flow, and general logistics.
Qualifications :
Current Enrollment : Must be admitted to and actively enrolled in a Duquesne University Graduate Program throughout the term of the appointment.Time Commitment : Ability to consistently work a flexible schedule averaging 20 hours per week during the school year, with a dedicated commitment to late afternoon and evening shifts. Employment can be expanded to 30 hours in the Summer.Skills & Attributes : Exceptional verbal communication skills with a professional and persuasive telephone presence; high level of self-motivation and organizational ability; proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).Technical Proficiency : Experience using a CRM system (e.g., Slate, Salesforce) or a phone-based outreach platform is highly desirable.Teamwork : Demonstrated ability to be a proactive team player, willing to take on varied tasks and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
