Founded in 1970, East Valley Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) who's services include providing personalized, affordable, high-quality medical, dental, vision and behavioral health care through a community-based network within the East San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Communities. Our staff practices patient-centered care by serving each patient with a personalized care plan that meets their individual needs. Our patients have access to support services that include, nutrition, health education, case management, pharmacy, lab, and x-ray at our health center locations. East Valley serves the health care needs of uninsured and underserved individuals and families throughout our 8 health center locations.

We have an exciting opportunity to bring onboard a pediatric dentist under the UCLA-First 5 LA Oral Health Program. The purpose of this program is to act as an in-house specialist to treat young patients (patients who are ages 0-5) who would have otherwise been referred out of the clinic. The position will serve in a training/teaching role with the goal of imparting their specialized knowledge to other members of the health center team. The pediatric dentist will be working closely with the Community Dental Home Coordinator (CDHC) to successful meet the goals of the UCLA-First 5 LA Oral Health Program.

Essential Position Functions and Duties:
• Direct delivery of dental services.
• Follows EVCHC's Dental and Medical Clinic Protocol and Policies.
• Follows established industry guidelines.
• Supervises clinical auxiliaries, as required by law and the needs of EVCHC.
• Participates in program development through consultation with the Dental Director.
• Oversees and promotes cost efficiency measures within the dental practice as appropriate.
• Maintains quality assurance standards and works closely with the Dental Director.
• Participates in provider meetings and activities.
• Participates in other activities as required by the Dental Director.

Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 2 years experience as a Pediatric Dentist
• DDS/DMD Degree
• Current California dental license in good standing
• Must possess a valid license to practice in California, DEA, and Board Certification.
• Current CPR card.
• Ability to work well with all levels of the healthcare team.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to travel to La Puente (FRC Location) on Fridays
• Must be able to travel to Pomona on Saturdays.
