Automotive Controller

TITLE : Controller

REPORTS TO : CFO

Position, Scope and Purpose :

The controller assists in the fair presentation of the financial statements of the company,  implements controls to ensure compliance, and completes the activities necessary to accomplish these goals.  They will control cash and factory receivables along with reserves and Finance Product remittance and product cancelations.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Ensure bank deposits are made and recorded on a daily basis (includes ACH, wire transfers, etc)
• Reconcile all bank accounts daily
• Revise / post monthly standard entries by the 15th of the month
• Maintain fixed asset schedules to ensure they agree with related general ledger accounts
• Work with office staff to ensure they complete assignments on a timely, consistent basis
• Prepare reports as requested by management company and / or department managers
• Prepare tax reports on timely basis (i.e.

sales tax, tire disposal tax, lease tax, tangible personal property taxes, etc.)

floor plan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer's statements, accounts payable, etc.)

Service department repair orders should not be open for more than 3 working days. Body shop tickets will require inquiry to determine status of the job

Parts tickets should not be open more than 2 days
