Survey Party Chief

Overview:
Provide field layouts for DOT projects, including staking survey points, calculating grade data, and ensuring data accuracy. Operate GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and data collectors. Archive and maintain field data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculate and stake survey points (grades, slopes, drainage, retaining walls, bridges).
• Coordinate with project supervisors on survey tasks and schedules.
• Supervise and ensure safety of survey crew.
• Operate GPS, robotic total stations, total station, and data collectors.
• Maintain field notes and verify crew's data accuracy.
• Gather survey data using GPS and conventional methods.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency with GPS equipment, robotic total stations, computers, and data collectors.
• Knowledge of Topcon software preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights over 6 ft, bend, stoop, squat, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
