MCT Laboratory Technologist Trainee

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee join our team inSt. Paul, MN.

Work Schedule:Wednesday – Saturday, 9:00 pm – 7:30 am

Shift: 3rd, this position is eligible for a shift differential

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing accordingto established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Reportaccurateand timelytest resultsin order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• Previous clinical laboratory testing experienceis notrequired
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention todetail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

**Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
