Schedule Details / Additional Information :

Nights

8 and 12 hr shifts

Every third weekend rotation

Holiday rotation

Sign-On Bonus : $15,000 for 3rd Shift

Student Loan Forgiveness : Up to $20,000

Unit Overview :

Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , providing care for a diverse and complex range of patients, including :

Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections

Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries

Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program

High volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, as well as medical overflow cases

In our Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you'll gain exposure to the latest in neurosurgical techniques and care.

Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care.

Use clinical judgment and communication skills to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Major Responsibilities :

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop personalized care plans, and evaluate effectiveness.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required :

Registered Nurse license from the state of practice.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA.

Education Required :

Completion of an accredited Nursing program.

Experience Required :

Minimum of 1 year in clinical nursing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Ability to provide holistic patient care with a focus on patient and family.

Confidence in addressing unplanned clinical situations with quick, timely responses.

Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical record systems.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Certification Addendum : Team members should maintain annual educational requirements for hospital certifications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist throughout the workday.

Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and 20 lbs. overhead.

Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance and push / pull with 30 lbs. of force.

Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with assistance.

Exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases; required to use protective gear as needed.

Must possess functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch for clinical tasks.

Operates essential equipment to perform job duties.
