File Data Transfer Lead

Job Description

Job Summary :

Responsible for execution of analysis, design and development of File Transfer projects. Establishes the long-term strategy and technical architecture as well as the short-term scope for a multi-phased data transfer infrastructure. Provides documentation and presentation of solutions / architecture to management, peers and collaborating groups.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Works directly with project teams and business representatives to fully understand data requirements, and organizes those requirements into data models that represent the nature and interactions of the data
• Produces file transfer-related design deliverables that will enable the File Transfer team in keeping with the overall file transfer architecture strategy to ensure accurate results are achieved
• Executes analysis for design and development of file transfer projects for customer implementations (internal / external); consistent with corporate and technology standards
• Collaborates with customers, engineers, internal applications groups, the Technology Standards Committee and project managers to determine the best communication method for new and existing data transmissions
• Documents file transfer design solutions and architecture management strategies
• Performs peer mentoring / coaching to insure that work is being conducted at the highest technical level for all position grades
• Insures that peers are trained in the proper disciplines for accomplishing accurate process builds and process installs in accordance with established corporate guidelines and technology standards
• Maintains strong customer focus and manages customer expectation by establishing a high level of user trust and confidence in IT knowledge of, and concern for the customers business needs
• Demonstrate history of completing projects and application of all aspects of the required knowledge and skill for Architect position
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Required Experience : Eight (8) years of experience with Sterling Commerce Connect Product Suites (with specific emphasis on Connect : Direct, Sterling Integrator (Gentran), Connect Direct Select and Connect Control Center; Data transfer protocols such as FTP, SFTP, AS2 & data encryption / decryption methods) in complex Unix, Linux, and Windows environments.
