Join our team! We are looking for a skilled Operating Engineer to join our Parks and Recreation Department. This role involves maintaining and repairing heating, cooling, and power systems, ensuring smooth operations in various facilities. Location : 1100 North Hamline Avenue Schedule : Shifts are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and nights 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and include weekends and holidays.

Here's what you can expect to do :

• Maintain and Repair Equipment : Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, generators, and bodies of water like pools and fountains.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance : Including greasing bearings and changing belts and filters.
• Operate Tools and Machinery : Use specialized tools, testing devices, and computer software to diagnose and repair systems. Safely operate vehicles, material handlers, hoists, and lifts.
• Recordkeeping & Coordination : Maintain work schedules, equipment logs, and inspection records. Coordinate with contractors, trades, and maintenance teams as needed.
• Work in Various Conditions : Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments under different weather conditions.
