Full-time Director, Reliability Engineering

Company Overview

Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized MV power converter system that is a Solid State replacement for the legacy MV transformer while enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. We are looking for mission driven team members passionate about making amazing products for worldwide electrification at maximum acceleration. Amperesand is building a global company and looking for talent across our geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Create demonstrated reliability targets and test plan
  • Build the team to execute highly accelerated life testing for all components
  • Conduct DFMEA to find reliability concerns and propose design solutions
  • Set up test chambers while working with accredited labs to conduct critical testing
  • Collaborate with electronics and mechanical teams to design for reliability

Qualifications

  • Technical degree (PhD preferred) or equivalent industry experience in electronics or reliability engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in reliability engineering for power electronics
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of test, compliance, or reliability engineers
  • Delivered a high volume product with field reliability matching demonstrated reliability
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and handling of high voltage hardware
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally
