Position Summary

As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical care to individuals facing emergencies such as accidents, violence, and critical health crises like cardiac arrests or strokes. You will deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support until patient care is transitioned to receiving medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide standby services when necessary.
• Document patient assessments and treatments in our care charting system.
• Assist patients during psychiatric, medical, and traumatic emergencies with appropriate medical support.
• Work collaboratively as part of a two-member ambulance crew in response to emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Utilize medical equipment for advanced life support, including resuscitation and defibrillation tools.
• Evaluate the severity of injuries or illnesses to determine the appropriate medical response.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions while safely operating emergency vehicles to designated locations.
• Administer medications through injections, intravenous methods, or orally, as directed by a physician.
• Maintain communication with medical professionals at treatment facilities regarding patient care.
• Perform cleaning and decontamination of ambulances after transporting patients with infectious diseases.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching required.
