Assistant / Associate Professor of Special Education in the Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor in Special Education in the Department of Teacher Education. The successful applicant will begin in August 16, 2026.Candidates must hold a doctorate degree in Special Education or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in Special Education and have a minimum of three years successful special education teaching experience PK-12 public schools. Prior university experience is preferred. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise field experiences and / or internships. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in literacy interventions and / or elementary special education teaching experience.This faculty position requires teaching courses to pre-service and in-service teachers in the Special Education program; advising students; providing professional, community, and university service; and mentoring and supervising students in field placements. The Special Education Program includes extensive clinical experiences in area schools, beginning in the first semester of study in education and continuing through the internship experience at the end of the program.
