Job Description

Pro Resources is seeking a 1st Shift CNC Machinist Apprentice for a client in Fort Wayne, IN. The The CNC Machinist Apprentice is an entry-level, probationary position responsible for learning the basic setup, programming, and operation of CNC and secondary-process machines. This role focuses on developing foundational machining skills while adhering to all safety, quality, and operational standards. Apply Today! Shift and Compensation

  • 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8-5
  • Pay : $20 / hour

Job Duties

  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures; actively identify and recommend safety

    • improvements.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards.
  • Learn to set up, program, and operate CNC machines and secondary-process equipment

    • under supervision.

  • Perform basic machining operations and assist with part loading, unloading, and inprocess checks.
  • Conduct basic dimensional inspections using calipers and micrometers; submit all

    • inspection results for verification.

  • Maintain daily calibration logs for measuring instruments, including calipers,

    • micrometers, and refractometers.

  • Perform basic machine maintenance tasks such as adjusting coolant concentration and

    • emptying chip vacuum chambers.

  • Follow work instructions, routers, blueprints, and verbal guidance from senior

    • machinists and supervisors.

    Background Profile

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read and understand basic work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Computer and mechanical aptitude with an interest in machining or manufacturing.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a shop environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on an infrequent basis and up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis.
