Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Cottondale, Alabama

A contracted nursing opportunity is available in Cottondale, AL, specializing in cardiac telemetry care within a well-equipped 42-bed medical unit. This role focuses on providing high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and other related conditions while also managing patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a cardiac telemetry setting
• Monitor and manage patients presenting with chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, and arrhythmias
• Care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, medical (pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, GI issues, stroke), and surgical cases
• Float to other units and hospitals as needed to support patient care
• Work assigned shifts including holidays, every other weekend, and options for 36 or 48 hours per week

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Associate degree in nursing required
• Current Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama or compact license, no temporary licenses accepted
• Certification in AHA BLS or American Red Cross equivalent
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience preferred, with a minimum of 18 months under a professional license considered
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac or telemetry nursing specialty
• Proficient in patient assessment and cardiac care protocols
