*General Summary: *SurgOne, in coordination with CommonSpirit - St. Anthony North in Westminster, Colorado, is seeking a General Surgeon to support a busy general surgery service line. *About SurgOne and CommonSpirit - St. Anthony North:* * SurgOne is a multi-specialty surgical private practice that has served the entire Denver community for over 25 years. * SurgOne blends the independence and autonomy provided in private practice with robust corporate support for billing, payer contracting, credentialing, human resources, and more. * SurgOne's mission a focus on excellence in quality of care, demonstrated by thorough preoperative and postoperative evaluation and successful surgical outcomes * Services at St. Anthony North Hospital include 60,000 square feet of integrated physician clinics for both primary and specialty care, an ambulatory surgery center, a birthing center with private birthing suites, a Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and an outpatient diagnostics center with lab and imaging services. *Essential Job Responsibilities:* * Conducts physical exams, assesses health status, orders and interprets tests, prescribes medications, and treats illnesses including giving injections and suturing wounds. * Monitors therapies and provides continuity of care. * Examines patient to provide information on medical condition and surgical risk. * Follows established surgical techniques during surgical procedures. * Operates on patients to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent and treat diseases, or improve or restore patients' functions. * Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems. Responds to emergencies including use of CPR. * Documents patient information and care in medical record and may maintain department statistical database for research purposes. *Education/Qualifications: * * 4-year bachelor's degree * 4-year medical school program * 3 to 8 additional years of residency program * 2 to 3 years of post-residency or fellowship experience * Must be licensed to practice in the State of Colorado * Board eligible or Board certified in General Surgery * ATLS certification * Committed to taking General Surgery/acute care/trauma call at a Level lll trauma center *Performance Requirements:* _Knowledge:_ * Knowledge of medical model and roles of physicians and surgeons. Familiar with anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis. * Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status including state of wellness, and compliance with care recommendations. * Knowledge of diagnosing and treating medical problems and developing care plans. * Knowledge of documentation in medical records in confidential manner. _Skills:_ * Skill in gathering and analyzing physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data. * Skill in accurately evaluating patient problems in person or via phone and providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral. * Skill in developing/revising patient care plan based on patient status. _Abilities:_ * Ability to make responsible decisions within scope of surgery. * Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians on complicated cases. * Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in user-friendly manner. * Ability to demonstrate eye-hand coordination, full range of motion, and manual dexterity. *Incentive/Benefits Package:* * Competitive compensation * Comprehensive benefits package, 401k * Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance *Equipment Operated: *Medical instruments required for physical exams, surgical instruments required for operating and computer hardware/software. *Work Environment: *Medical office, hospital and exam room settings. Frequent contact with variety of people. *Mental/Physical Requirements: *Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting. May be required to help to transfer patient.
