[job_card.job_description]The Sterile Processing Technician II prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as for the Operating Rooms. Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location. Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use. Patient care equipment is collected, cleaned and stored between patient applications. Responsible for tracking some rental equipment. They will work in the operating area to ready supplies and instruments for specific surgical procedures, turn the rooms between cases and assist in moving and lifting patients. The SP Tech II will also assist in training newly hired technicians. Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSM or other recognized or accredited program or ability to obtain certification within 9 months. Organization and prioritization skills Self starter and critical thinking skills to determine prioritization of tasks Minimum of 5 years of Sterile Processing experience due to the nature of needing to be independent and few resources available to help solve problems.
