Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Summary :

A Heavy Equipment Mechanic position will perform skilled mechanical work on heavy machinery including diagnostics maintenance and repair of diesel engines electrical and hydraulic systems. This role includes repairing various equipment like bulldozers and cranes performing preventative maintenance completing paperwork and potentially working in field or shop environments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Analyze and repair malfunctions in heavy equipment including mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform skilled mechanical work on machinery such as cranes bulldozers power shovels and forklifts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to manufacturer recommendations.
• Respond to service calls and perform repairs either in the field or at a maintenance shop.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment replacing defective parts and using specialized tools like micrometers and gauges to check components for damage or wear.
• Weld broken parts and structural members as needed.
• Document work completed prepare service reports and manage parts inventory.
• Operate machines and equipment to diagnose defects and test repairs to ensure they are operating efficiently.
