Job Description

Hardwood Sales Associate

Maley & Wertz is a family-owned sawmill and kiln drying operation located in Evansville, Indiana. We are currently seeking a candidate to fill an open position with our sales team as a sales associate.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Desire to work in a customer-centric sales role
  • Ability to upsell
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong telephone presence
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite a plus)
  • Sense of urgency
  • Positive, proactive and energetic attitude
  • Team player who works productively with wide range of people
  • Problem-solving and analytical ability

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following :

While working closely with senior sales representatives and direct Sales Manager :

  • Actively manage and grow a dedicated sales territory that includes a pre-existing customer base
  • Understand each customer's needs to provide real, effective solutions
  • Deliver exceptional service
  • Generate detailed, professional quotes
  • Develop leads and prospect new business opportunities using a variety of sources
  • Process orders in a timely manner and exhibit thorough follow-up
  • Work to continually advance and improve knowledge of product and industry trends
