About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Trauma Surgery NP in North Carolina!

We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Trauma Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This opportunity begins on Jan 5, 2026, and spans a 36-day contract, offering 5-10 shifts per month with day and night 12-hour shifts. The ideal candidate is board certified in surgery, skilled in advanced trauma life support, and proficient in procedures such as tube thoracostomy and central venous catheter placement.

  • Provider Type Needed : Surgery - Trauma Nurse Practitioner
  • Schedule : 5-10 shifts per month; 7am-5 : 30pm and 5 : 30pm-7am; 14 shifts monthly (12-hour shifts)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform advanced trauma life support in an acute care setting
  • Conduct tube thoracostomy and central venous catheter placements; arterial line placement preferred
  • Deliver care to trauma surgery patients as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Cerner EMR
  • Ensure adherence to all required safety, quality, and compliance protocols

  • Board certification in surgery required
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification required
  • DEA certification required
  • No new graduates; prior experience necessary
  • Must hold an active North Carolina license
