Direct Support Professional Job # (CA-OM)

A nineteen-year-old male that lives in Marcellus is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with 10 hours of respite and 5 hours of community habilitation support a week. He would like to work on independent living skills, brushing his teeth, and picking up after himself. In addition, he needs to work on being more independent with personal care. His interests include listening to music, going to parks, dancing, singing, going to the movies, and going out to eat.

The ideal candidate needs to be reliable, energetic, vigilant and willing to provide personal care as needed.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Hours and days of work : Monday-Friday from 3pm-7pm. Saturday's are flexible

Starting pay : Starting pay for respite is $18.50 hour, for community habilitation $20 / hour depending on experience.

Location : Marietta, NY

Qualifications :

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person's home and / or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
• No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
