A fast-growing aerospace technology manufacturer is expanding its battery engineering team to support the development of next-generation battery systems used in both commercial and defense aircraft.
This role is focused on the design, testing, and improvement of advanced battery systems and the electronics that control them. You'll work alongside mechanical, manufacturing, and program teams to bring high-reliability energy solutions from concept through production.
What You'll Do
- Design and refine battery cells and battery systems that meet demanding aerospace performance and safety requirements
- Perform modeling, simulation, and parameter analysis to improve cell and pack performance
- Partner with mechanical engineering to ensure proper packaging, thermal management, and integration
- Support the creation of test plans to evaluate battery and cell performance
- Analyze test data and prepare technical documentation for internal teams and customers
- Support sustaining engineering efforts to improve existing battery products
- Investigate returned units, identify root causes, and contribute to corrective actions
- Provide technical input to help Sales and Marketing position products effectively
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in battery design, development, and testing (aerospace or OEM experience strongly preferred)Solid understanding of lithium-ion battery fundamentals, impedance, testing methods, and failure modesExperience working with battery test equipment and analyzing performance dataStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to clearly document and explain technical workExperience with MATLAB and SolidWorks is a plusFamiliarity with FAA qualification or aerospace certification processes is a bonusHands-on, detail-oriented, and collaborative working styleWhy This Role Stands Out
