Position Overview

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking an experienced Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, coordinated patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ER RN will deliver care using the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and exercise sound clinical judgment while supporting patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ER patients following established standards and protocols
• Assess patient conditions, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop and implement individualized care plans
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
• Delegate appropriately and supervise support staff
• Maintain a safe, healing, and compassionate care environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice – Required
• BLS (CPR) – Required
• ACLS – Required
• PALS – Required
• Acute care experience – Preferred
• BSN – Preferred

Additional Requirements

• Floating and on-call may be required based on unit needs
• Must meet all Adventist Health vaccination requirements (medical and religious exemptions may apply)
