Description

  • Conduct assessments on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized age-appropriate assessments and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Partner with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to prepare holistic care plans.
  • Facilitate education for patients and their families to foster continued progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Contribute to occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the patient's healing process.
  • Document patient progress consistently with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay abreast of trends and advancements within the field.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
  • Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting the position.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for a diverse range of ages, demonstrating strong knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities, facilitating communication with patients, families, and medical teams.
  • Flexibility to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Competence in electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
