- Monday-Thursday : Typically 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM
- Friday : 8 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM
- Schedule may fluctuate, and some days may require arrival as early as 7 : 15 AM
- Reliability is essential. We are looking for someone dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance to support patient care and clinic operations.
Job Description
We are seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic, and dependable Medical Assistant to support one physician in a busy Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) group practice . Our practice treats patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors .
The Medical Assistant is a critical member of the clinical team , responsible for both clinical and administrative duties . While patients are in the clinic, the MA interviews patients, documents directly in the EMR, schedules tests and procedures, assists with minor in-office procedures, and supports efficient patient flow.
This role also includes answering and triaging patient phone calls, managing referrals, and coordinating care with outside specialists . A clear understanding that medicine is a service industry and the patient is the customer is essential.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and escort them from the waiting room to exam roomsCollect detailed patient histories and document accurately in the EMRReview prior chart entries and become familiar with established patients
Measure and record vital signsAnswer phones and manage patient inquiriesManage and process referrals , including sending records to outside specialistsObtain faxed medical records from referring physiciansSchedule tests, procedures, and follow-up appointmentsAssist physicians with minor in-office proceduresClean and sanitize exam rooms between patientsKeep exam rooms stocked and organizedClean and sterilize medical equipmentContact insurance companies to obtain prior authorizationsManage prescription refill requestsTriage patient phone calls, review concerns with the physician, and respond appropriatelyHelp keep the clinic and physician on scheduleMaintain clean, organized nursing and patient care areasQualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferredAbility to take and document vital signsStrong typing and computer skillsFamiliarity with Windows-based systemsKnowledge of medical terminologyExperience with NextGen EMR preferred but not requiredProfessional phone etiquette and strong communication skillsDependable, reliable, and consistently punctualAbility to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environmentEducation Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (required)Medical Assistant certification (recommended)
