At Koala Health, we have our eyes set on an ambitious goal: to make managing your pet's health simple and delightful. We've already launched our pharmacy service that allows people to shop for their pets' medications and supplements online and get them delivered to their doorstep in presorted medication pouches. Now we're focused on continuing to improve that experience while building a suite of new products and services that will make the pet health experience even better.

About the Role

We're looking for a Director of Product & Engineering to lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of digital products that power our pet pharmacy experience. This is a hands-on leadership role for a data-driven, customer-obsessed product leader who thrives in a scrappy, fast-paced environment. You will define and drive the product vision and roadmap, working closely with engineering, design, marketing, and operations teams to ensure our digital products exceed customer expectations and deliver measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate balances strategic thinking with strong execution skills, translating complex customer needs and business goals into actionable initiatives while fostering collaboration, experimentation, and continuous learning across the team.

In this role, you will take ownership of the full product lifecyclefrom identifying high-impact opportunities and prioritizing initiatives to delivering scalable, high-quality solutions. You will mentor and develop top talent, establish processes and metrics for consistent delivery, and leverage analytics, user feedback, and market insights to guide decision-making. What You'll Do:

• Define and drive a customer-first product vision and roadmap that supports Koala Health's mission to make managing pet health simple, delightful, and accessible.
• Lead and grow a nimble, cross-functional team across product and engineering, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Translate strategic company goals into actionable plans, balancing speed, quality, and scalability to deliver meaningful impact for pet parents and their pets.
• Partner closely with the Engineering Lead to guide technical direction, ensuring our platform remains innovative, reliable, and built for long-term growth.
• Leverage data and insights to measure product performance, uncover opportunities, and iterate toward better outcomes for customers and the business.
• Champion the customer experience by working hand-in-hand with Pharmacy, Customer Service, and Marketing teams to identify pain points and create seamless, joyful experiences across every touchpoint.
• Foster transparency and alignment across teams and stakeholders, clearly communicating product priorities, goals, and milestones.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Pharmacy Operations to connect product strategy with customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth.

What We're Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience across product management and software development within the healthcare or veterinarian space.
• At least 4+ years of proven success within a leadership role.
• Proven success owning a roadmap and delivering results in a growth-stage startup or e-commerce environment.
• Strong technical acumen with proven ability to partner effectively with engineers, challenge assumptions, and understand architectural trade-offs.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver products that drive both business and customer value.
• Deep understanding of analytics, experimentation, and data-informed decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence without authority and simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
• A bias for action and comfort operating with ambiguity, balancing strategic vision with executional urgency.
• Passion for improving the pet parent experience and building meaningful, reliable digital products that make care accessible.
