Position Summary
Powers & Sons Construction is seeking a motivated Superintendent to support field operations for construction projects. This role will assist in managing on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and trades, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining safety standards. The Superintendent will work closely with the Lead Superintendent and project management team to help drive projects to successful completion on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support and Execution
- Assist in directing and supervising on-site construction activities
- Support daily field operations, workforce scheduling, and resource allocation
- Help coordinate and schedule subcontractors and material deliveries
- Review plans and specifications to ensure proper execution
- Conduct site inspections and quality control reviews
- Assist in resolving field issues and implementing solutions
- Participate in project meetings with subcontractors and trade partners
Safety and Compliance
Support enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policiesParticipate in daily safety briefings and toolbox talksIdentify and report jobsite hazardsEnsure all workers have proper PPE and safety trainingHelp maintain clean, organized, and safe job sitesAssist with incident reports and safety documentation as neededQuality Control and Documentation
Ensure all work meets project specifications, building codes, and quality standardsPerform punch list inspections and coordinate correctionsDocument daily progress through reports, photos, and logsTrack and report on project schedule and productivityManage RFIs, submittals, and change orders in coordination with project managementMaintain accurate as-built documentationCommunication and Coordination
Communicate project updates and issues to Lead Superintendent and project management teamSupport relationships with clients, architects, inspectors, and trade partnersCollaborate with other field staff and office team membersAssist with coordination between estimating and field operationsQualifications
High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred3-5 years of construction experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or coordination roleKnowledge of commercial construction methods and techniquesUnderstanding of construction documents, blueprints, and specificationsAbility to coordinate subcontractors and manage schedulesOSHA 10-Hour certification required; OSHA 30-Hour preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsProficiency with construction management software and mobile technologyValid driver's license and reliable transportationPhysical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditionsCapable of walking job sites, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven terrainAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyMust be able to work extended hours as project demands requireCompensation and Benefits
