Reports To : Lead Superintendent or Project Manager

Position Summary

Powers & Sons Construction is seeking a motivated Superintendent to support field operations for construction projects. This role will assist in managing on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and trades, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining safety standards. The Superintendent will work closely with the Lead Superintendent and project management team to help drive projects to successful completion on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support and Execution

  • Assist in directing and supervising on-site construction activities
  • Support daily field operations, workforce scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Help coordinate and schedule subcontractors and material deliveries
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure proper execution
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control reviews
  • Assist in resolving field issues and implementing solutions
  • Participate in project meetings with subcontractors and trade partners

Safety and Compliance

  • Support enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and toolbox talks
  • Identify and report jobsite hazards
  • Ensure all workers have proper PPE and safety training
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Assist with incident reports and safety documentation as needed

    • Quality Control and Documentation

  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, building codes, and quality standards
  • Perform punch list inspections and coordinate corrections
  • Document daily progress through reports, photos, and logs
  • Track and report on project schedule and productivity
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders in coordination with project management
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation

    • Communication and Coordination

  • Communicate project updates and issues to Lead Superintendent and project management team
  • Support relationships with clients, architects, inspectors, and trade partners
  • Collaborate with other field staff and office team members
  • Assist with coordination between estimating and field operations

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of construction experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or coordination role
  • Knowledge of commercial construction methods and techniques
  • Understanding of construction documents, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage schedules
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification required; OSHA 30-Hour preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software and mobile technology
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Capable of walking job sites, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to work extended hours as project demands require
