Job Title : Nurse Practitioner – Open Arms Pain Clinic
Position Summary :
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Open Arms Pain Clinic provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute and chronic pain. This role combines advanced clinical expertise with compassionate care to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients through evidence-based pain management strategies. The NP will collaborate with specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop personalized treatment plans that improve patients’ quality of life.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain conditions using evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Administer or assist with interventional procedures (e.g., joint injections, trigger point injections, Botox for migraines, etc.) as credentialed.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and self-management strategies for pain.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and referrals as needed.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness, adjust care plans, and document patient progress in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, state licensing requirements, and DEA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff development programs.
- Promote Open Arms Pain Clinic’s mission of providing compassionate, accessible, and innovative pain management services.
Qualifications :
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP, AGNP, or PMHNP with pain management focus).Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances.Minimum 1–2 years of NP experience in pain management, primary care, neurology, anesthesiology, orthopedics, or related specialty (preferred).Strong knowledge of pain management principles, pharmacology, and interventional procedures.Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.Work Environment :
Outpatient clinical setting.Regular patient interaction, requiring empathy, professionalism, and critical thinking.May include occasional evening or weekend hours depending on clinic needs.Reports To : Medical Director / Clinic Administrator
