Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg Tele RN with a current NY license and inpatient chemo certification for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital setting on MS / Tele and Hematology / Oncology units

Cares for patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and those undergoing cardiac pharmacological interventions

Handles a 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 patient ratio for Med / Surg

Hematology / Oncology unit features a developing bone marrow transplant program and high acuity patient population

Frequently coordinates care for patients actively receiving chemotherapy or recovering from side effects

Opportunity to cross train in the MICU as the BMT program expands

26 beds on cardiac specialty unit, 36 beds on hematology / oncology unit

Uses Epic for electronic medical records

Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00-07 : 00)

Works every other weekend

Local candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility

First-time travelers are accepted for this role

Team is described as cohesive and supportive in a fast-paced environment

Staff have the opportunity to cross train in the MICU

Scrub attire is any combination of navy and white

Position is at a tertiary care hospital

Must be able to withstand fast-paced and high acuity care demands

Requirements

Active NY RN license in hand required

Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience

Current Chemo certification is required

ACLS and BLS certifications required

Must be proficient with Epic EMR
