Job TITLE : Delivery Engineer

Location : San Francisco CA

Term : Contract to Hire

Skill :

The Delivery Engineer will be responsible for building and extending delivery automation solutions that enable and improve the release lifecycle of digital streams. The team is driving an exciting transformation of the release pipeline using principles of DevOps and Continuous Delivery. We are seeking an engineer who can comfortably switch between supporting existing automation and R&D bleeding-edge tools and frameworks.

Essential Functions :

Own the automation of delivery functions, including :
Application Deployment
Configuration Management
Cloud / Container Engineering
Implement automation following architectural guidelines and release and change processes
Own the set-up and automation of applications on public PaaS platforms and containers
Own infrastructure as code, spanning private / public / hybrid cloud and bare-metal
Work collaboratively with a 24x7 Delivery Operations teams to train and transition automation and support
Support defects and enhancement requests in the automation in a timely fashion
Proactively engage in PoCs of new automation tooling and frameworks to support changing requirements
Work well with distributed teams across various time zones.
Up to 5% travel – Training, Conferences – up to 4x a year

Experience : NA

Education :

BA / BS Degree + 4 years experience or MA / MS Degree + 3 years experience

3+ years in Delivery Automation functions, including hands-on experience in several of the below :

App Deployment Tooling (uDeploy, AntHillPro or equivalent)

PaaS Cloud Engineering (on vCloud, GCP, Heroku or equivalent)

Infrastructure-as-code (Chef, Puppet or equivalent)

Containerization (Docker or equivalent)

Enterprise CMS (Zookeeper or equivalent)

Scripting (Ruby, Groovy or equivalent)

2+ years working in an Enterprise Linux environment

Demonstrable understanding of web application servers (jBOSS / WebSphere)

Demonstrable understanding of DevOps and Continuous Delivery

Quick learner, open to on and off site training

Java development experience a plus
