Independent Living Instructor - PT Day Schedule

Salary: $23-$25 per hour

Location: This position serves clients throughout Contra Costa County. The role is not limited to Walnut Creek only.

Schedule: Flexible, Day Schedule - must be able to complete hours between 8:30am and 6pm.

As an Independent Living Instructor, youll work one-on-one with clients in their homes and communitieshelping them master essential life skills like personal care, health maintenance, social engagement, money management, and more.

What You'll Do:
Build strong, respectful relationships with clients
Teach everyday life skills with patience, care, and cultural sensitivity
Support clients with appointments, social events, errands, and community access including providing transportation when needed
Champion independence, empowerment, and self-advocacy
Keep clear, timely records and collaborate with a supportive team
Be part of a mission that truly matters

What You Bring:
A heart for service and a passion for helping others grow
At least 6 months of experience in human services or supporting people with disabilities
Strong communication and organization skills
Fluency in English or Spanish (bilingual preferred)
High school diploma or GED

Must Haves:
Valid CA drivers license, reliable & insured vehicle, and clean driving record
Willingness to drive clients to medical appointments, social outings, and other essential activities
Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (if not already certified)
Ability to pass a background check
