Adult Psychiatrist, Inpatient - Behavioral Health and Substance use Disorders

(Physician / MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (Addiction) - Healthcare system is seeking an experienced psychiatrist to work on an 18 bed mental health and substance abuse unit.

The psychiatrist provides psychiatric and|or Substance Use Disorder assessment|evaluations. Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of therapeutic and evidence based treatment. Discuss and review role of anti-craving medications for relapse prevention. Request any necessary laboratory studies on clients as determined by results of screening or assessment. Provide individual|group treatment|medication management to clients taking psychiatric medications.

Handle crisis intervention needs. Ensures appropriate follow up. Designs a plan of care based on assessment of physical, emotional, and social needs and in collaboration with the patient, primary care providers and, if appropriate, the family. Psycho education around such issues as high-risk behavior, mental health, addictions, & domestic violence. Consultation to the on-call physicians for mental health emergencies.
