PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, tracks, diesel engines and transmissions for a variety of construction equipment and crane typesMaintain a safe shop work environmentEffectively communicate equipment issues with supervisor to ensure customer satisfactionOperate / maneuver heavy equipment on site in a safe and effective mannerCheck daily to ensure equipment functions properly and in a safe mannerEnsure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.Accurately order needed parts from vendors when necessaryOperate and test equipment after repairSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years' experience with a large construction company as a heavy equipment mechanicThorough knowledge of equipment and safety processes used in commercial, civil and / or marine constructionKnowledge of equipment maintenance, storage, schematics, and diagramsNecessary tools to perform the work assignedKnowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skillsAbility to weld and fabricate preferredAbility to complete daily activities according to work scheduleMust have valid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyAbility to perform heavy lifting / pushing / pulling of material weighing 50 poundsAbility to squat, crawl, and work in confined spacesExhibit strong work ethic, teamwork, customer service, verbal, and written skillsAge 18+Proof of Identity and Employment AuthorizationTWIC credentials and CDL preferredMcCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
