Detailer

The Detailer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed Division 8 door, frame, and hardware submittals and shop drawings for Kendell projects while ensuring budget compliance. This role includes completing the scheduling process, job costing entries, and submittal revisions, with a focus on maximizing cost savings and maintaining high-quality project documentation. The Detailer applies industry knowledge and standards to support project teams and provides guidance to colleagues as a resource.

• Create detailed door and frame submittals and shop drawings using Protech software, spreadsheets, plans, specifications, and estimating documents.
• Develop detailed hardware sets with proper headings, correct sequence and format, functional coordination of door openings, and hardware templating requirements.
• Evaluate door openings to select appropriate products and assemblies that comply with codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Follow FSC policies, BAA, ADA, and applicable building code guidelines related to scheduling.
• Organize and prepare all project information for the project management job folder.
• Complete scheduling process including job costing entries and submittal revisions.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the scheduling process.
• Stay current on industry codes, standards, products, and manufacturers by attending in-house or manufacturer-sponsored learning sessions and industry seminars/conferences.
• Apply newly gained knowledge and skills to improve job performance.
• Serve as a source of industry and organizational knowledge for colleagues.
• Provide cross-functional support to other departments as needed.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in the construction industry, preferably in product scheduling, drafting, or detailing.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, database software, and scheduling software; experience with Protech and Smartsheet preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Strong mathematical skills including arithmetic, fractions, rates, percentages, ratios, and interpretation of symmetrical drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and consistently meet deadlines

Salary/Hourly: $80,000 - $100,000 or DOE
