Position Summary
The Packaging Associate supports the packaging team in producing high-quality products by performing routine packaging, assembly, and inspection tasks with strong attention to detail. Working under regular supervision, this role follows established procedures to meet quality standards, on-time delivery goals, and safety requirements. The position reports to the Packaging Supervisor.
At the start of employment, the Packaging Associate will participate in an onboarding and training program, which includes learning basic job setup, operational procedures, and various packaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review daily work schedules and job information to understand required materials, specifications, and preparation steps for each production run.
- Assist with hand collating, final assembly, kit building, and other packaging activities as directed by the line lead to ensure customer satisfaction and timely delivery.
- Place materials in the correct sequence to maintain quality standards for packaging projects.
- Handle completed products and pack materials onto pallets, corrugated cartons, or carts.
- Examine and visually inspect products, reporting any quality issues to the line lead.
- Operate basic auxiliary equipment under supervision, such as manual shrink-wrappers, cartoners, box cutters, and other related devices.
- Help stage jobs for upcoming production runs, including loading product materials onto the production line.
- Perform accurate time and material postings in the MIS system for each job.
- Follow all company policies, security protocols, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and ISO requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment; correct or report unsafe conditions promptly.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned to support efficient workflow and operational needs, including occasional tasks outside normal responsibilities.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.No prior experience necessary; experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Skills & Abilities
Effective customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).Strong attention to detail with sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Basic proficiency using intranet and management information systems (MIS).Ability to perform simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Physical Requirements
Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 60 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently.Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the assigned shift.#RAL
