  • Type of equipment : Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers. Use of iMobile phones and technology by all staff in the hospital. PPE- includes mask, face shields, goggles, PAPR’s and hoods for our COVID-19 patients.
  • Documentation system : Meditech using EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation)
  • Scheduling requirements : All nursing shifts are twelve hours from 7 to 7; every other weekend. Holiday requirements
  • Floating policy : Nursing staff will float to other Medical-Surgical Units in the hospital as needed with priority focus on pulling to Intensive Care Units.
  • Patient Experience requirements : Hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, completion of 'My Care Board' during hand-off report; use of AIDET with a focus on compassionate connected care.

  • Advanced skills needed : Ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, thorough and accurate assessment skills, and proficient knowledge with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems, and Don and Doff of PPE.
  • Procedures performed on unit : Intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT), proning of patients.
