Seeking a General Sales Manager for our automotive family
Up to $150,000 a year
POSITION SUMMARY : The General Sales Manager is responsible for managing the vehicle sales department in a professional manner that is consistent with Route 24 Auto Group’s core philosophies, principles, and values.
The General Sales Manager will be held accountable to :
- Achieve maximum results in sales volume, gross profit, customer satisfaction, and employee productivity by using motivational leadership and effective administration to create an environment of high productivity.
- Effectively assemble, motivate, train, mentor and provide leadership to a team of associates that embraces Route 24 Auto group’s mission and core values.
- Create a collaborative team-oriented culture that maximizes everyone’s potential.
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures, programs, and strategies are followed and executed effectively.
- Implement effectively all the duties, responsibilities, and requirements outlined in this job description.
- Set a professional standard that always reflects favorably on Route 24 Auto Group.
- Maximize the revenue generation and profitability of the sales team.
- Report any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees to management
- Conduct yourself professionally while in the workplace
- Treat each customer and co-worker with kindness and respect

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
In conjunction with the General Manager, the General Sales Manager is responsible for the following duties and tasks :
Sales Management :Ensures adherence to The Company’s sales process
Supervises sales department staff, paying special attention to the flow of customers in the showroom, phone and internet inquiries, and appointmentsEnsure prospects receive proper greeting, negotiation interaction, and exit consultation by salespersons and sales managersMonitor CRM reporting to ensure sales department is operating within the key metrics for closing ratios, timely lead-handling, and accurate CRM prospect accountingExecute sales process to achieve gross profit levels that are consistent with market conditions and forecastsEstablish procedures to ensure positive customer experiences and online reviewsHandle customer complaints in a timely fashionConduct daily save-a-deal meetings to maximize revenue.Prepare monthly vehicle specials and updates marketing materials as necessaryEmployee Management :Assists GM with scheduling of sales consultants, sales managers, business managers, and support staff
Hires, trains, motivates and evaluates staff on a regular basisEnsures that salespeople are trained 1-on-1 with management on a daily basisReviews all commission sheets, productivity reports, salesperson monthly forecasts, and profit performance with the salespeople, business managers, and BDC personnelEnsures that employees are always conducting themselves in a professional manner and discipline staff when appropriateGuarantees new hires complete paperwork and orientation prior to start date so computers and phones are activeAsset Management :Maintains proper supply of new and used vehicles by accurately forecasting future supply and demand
Maintains system to maximize new vehicle allocation and foster positive relationship with manufacturer for discretionary vehiclesMaintains process for accurate and timely new vehicle sale reporting to ensure collection of all applicable rebates, manufacturer monies and to timely identify any unwindsMaintains a used vehicle acquisition system that employs a quick turn-around, quality repair, and reconditioning process for designated used vehicle inventoryMaintains internal control over new and used vehicle inventory to prevent theft, vandalism and lot damage and ensures that facility is locked and secureAdheres to Company used vehicle marketing and sales procedures, including proper pricing, markdowns, pictures, comments, and displayComplies with Company vehicle wholesale procedures to ensure timely liquidation of inventoryFollows Company standards for inventory appearance, condition of showroom and display areas, and snow removalMonitors contracts in transit, rebates, and customer receivable schedules dailyAccounts for all dealer plates, keys, titles, certificates of origin, and sales paperwork, including needs discovery sheets, customer information, and registry paperworkREQUIREMENTS :
