American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department position requiring an NC or compact license, strong ED skills, and the ability to float within a designated region.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department within a non-trauma-designated hospitalCares for all ages with high acuity, including trauma stabilization, mental health, substance abuse, stroke, respiratory, cardiac, and diabetic emergenciesTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 in a fast-paced, high-volume ED seeing 200+ patients dailyUtilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitorsEvening 12-hour shifts from 1500 to 0300 with a 6-week scheduling cycleWeekend rotation required every other weekendHoliday requirement of working 75% of holidays assignedFloating required within the specified region, including multiple facilities, with on-the-clock travel when floating mid-shiftSupport available from CNAs, receptionists, and charge nurses within the departmentOrientation includes hospital-wide onboarding and two days of departmental orientationNavy scrubs required per unit dress codeTeam-oriented work culture with an emphasis on collaborationFree parking providedFirst-time travelers will be considered but are not preferredMust live at least 50 miles from the home unit per radius ruleUp to 6 days of time off approved excluding holidays, with contract extension for unmet hours\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications requiredTNCC certification preferredProficiency in adult and pediatric emergency nursing including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK / TPA administration, and conscious sedationExperience with Epic EMR preferred\n Benefits\n
