Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Room RN with at least two years of ED and travel experience, requiring EPIC proficiency and advanced nursing certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a busy community Emergency Department with 28 beds and 3 trauma bays
  • Cares for all ages and a full range of medical emergencies, including trauma, MVA, mass casualties, GSW, stabbings, stroke alerts, and STEMI cases
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1 : 4-5, with full-time staff sometimes up to 6
  • Utilizes EPIC EHR; previous experience with EPIC is strongly preferred
  • 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and major holiday required
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
  • Role includes the full scope of emergency nursing care, patient assessment, care planning, and rapid response to a variety of medical and trauma situations
  • Expected to coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, law enforcement, EMS, and other external agencies
  • Must pass EKG testing on first day with two attempts allowed
  • Dress code and scrub requirements not specified

    • Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI or De-escalation training
  • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided)
  • Copy of nursing diploma required for consideration
