Counsel and assist prospective and continuing students through the financial aid process.

Duties :

  • Coordinates the financial aid process.
  • Counsel and assist prospective and continuing students through the financial aid process.
  • Packaged and award financial assistance to prospective and continuing students.
  • Serve as the back up to the Information manager (IM) when IM is not in the office.
  • Verify submitted financial documents against information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills Needed :

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in working with sensitive information.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint Excel and the ability to work with mainframe database systems.
  • Experienced in providing customer service.
  • Proficient written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Key interfaces :

  • Interaction with continuing students, prospective students, faculty and staff of the college.
  • Interaction with Federal and State officials.

    • Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 6 months in financial aid office and / or other significant work experience

    • Working conditions & physical demands :

  • General office setting with moderate noise level
