Summary :

The Charge Procedural RN responsibilities include :

RN is proficient in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients consistently utilizing effective managerial skills

RN acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team

RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

RN is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization

RN acts as a mentor and resource expert, supports and shares organizational information to all team members

RN promotes evidence-based clinical care that exemplifies the pursuit of clinical excellence

RN also performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse

This position requires at two years of RN experience with a strong preference for at least 1 year of RN experience in Endoscopy, PACU, Critical Care, or Emergency Service. Procedural experience is preferred. Endoscopy experience is strongly preferred.

Certifications and Licensures :

BLS (Basic Life Support)

RN (Registered Nurse)

ACLS (Cardiovascular) if required by department

Preferred Nurse Specialty

Education :

Associate's Nursing or Diploma Nursing and an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire / promotion. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice

Preferred Bachelor's Nursing

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years RN experience in any setting. Licensed RN and completion of all Clinical Nurse requirements.

Preferred Experience includes 1 year Interventional / Perioperative Internship.
