Position: Full-time Transportation Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and provide guidance to the team of motor coach operators and support staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and high customer service standards.

Fleet Management:

• Manage the maintenance and repair schedule for the fleet of motor coaches, ensuring all vehicles are in safe and operational condition.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff and external vendors for timely and cost-effective repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Customer Service:

• Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner to ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
• Implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and improve satisfaction.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and other applicable laws.
• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage the transportation department budget, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
• Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
• Prepare regular financial reports and performance summaries for senior management.

Strategic Planning:

• Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for the transportation department.
• Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of services.
• Collaborate with senior management to align departmental goals with the overall company vision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years experience in transportation operations management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation industry standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in managing a fleet of motor coaches or similar vehicles.
• Certification in transportation or logistics management.
• Familiarity with route planning and scheduling software.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
• Capable of conducting vehicle inspections and visiting maintenance facilities.
• Good vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices.
