Structural EngineerProject Manager, Ports Marines

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join our team in our Virginia Beach VA office. This individual will serve as a leader within the team overseeing multiple projects managing key deliverables and maintaining strong client relationships. As a Structural Engineer the appropriately qualified applicant will be part of a team responsible for the design of small to large-scale Ports & Marine projects :

• Conduct / manage engineering structural design as the supervisor or lead structural engineer
• Create or review designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and final working drawings
• Collects and analyzes data
• Use computer software as a tool for solving basic and complex engineering problems
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule
• Mentor junior staff
• Develop and implement innovative structural solutions for complex marine projects
• Ensure compliance with local state and federal building codes and regulations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with other engineering disciplines
• Manages one or more complex projects involving a full spectrum of engineering services offered by AECOM
• Provides project and technical task management for one or more simultaneous projects
• Identifies problems determines accuracy and relevance of information uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and makes recommendations
• Client Relationships : Ability to assist in developing new client relationships and to strengthen existing client relationships. Ability to identify understand and focus on clients key requirements
• Team leadership : good team leadership skills. Self-starter energetic pro-active
• Develop and manage project schedules budgets and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for project execution
• Coordinate with contractors suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation
• Prepare and deliver project status reports to senior management and clients
