Job Overview

Vonnegut Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires a high level of organization, consistency, and professionalism. As a core leader on our Project Management team, you will coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are metwhile contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full project lifecycle from pre-construction to closeout

Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, materials, and inspections

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes

Maintain project budgets and provide regular cost tracking and reporting

Manage client communications and expectations throughout the project

Collaborate closely with site superintendents, vendors, and architects

Lead progress meetings and issue updates to internal and external stakeholders

Enforce site safety standards and company protocols

Resolve construction issues efficiently and professionally

Submit change orders, RFIs, and submittals in a timely manner

Ensure project milestones and deadlines are consistently met

Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of accountability and learning

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in construction project management

Proven ability to manage multiple residential and / or commercial projects

Strong organizational and communication skills

Proficiency in reading plans, schedules, and construction documents

Knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and construction safety standards

Ability to lead meetings and coordinate across diverse teams

Professional, consistent, and goal-oriented work ethic

Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) preferred

No formal degree requiredexperience and reliability matter most
