Sterile Processing Tech Location : Houston, TX Agency : Pride Health Pay : Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information : 5 days x 8 hours Start Date : ASAP About the Position Pride Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Technologist to support our client's medical facility, located in Houston, TX 77025 . This is a 3 month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Specific Duties : Demonstrates adherence to AAMI ST 79 and AORN guidelines for proper processing and sterilisation of surgical instruments / equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions for use Knowledgeable of principles of aseptic techniques and universal precautions. Correctly handles instruments to prevent injury to self or others, to maintain proper working order. Inspect all instruments and equipment for any damage or malfunction, or bio burden. Demonstrates familiarity with a wide scope of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies and various alternatives available for sterilisation. Ensure equipment, instrumentation and supplies are available by maintaining proper inventory and prompt repairs are initiated. Maintain cleanliness and proper order in the work area. Wears appropriate PPE when decontaminating / processing instrumentation and equipment. Maintains all required records on sterilisation. Proficient in the use of all equipment Properly cleans and maintains all CSPD equipment according to the manufacturer's guidelines to include washer decontaminator, autoclaves, Steris units, ultrasonic, etc Assists in emergencies as directed. Decontaminates, inspects, and sterilises all equipment and instrumentation according to the manufacturer's instructions for use. Qualifications : 1 year of preferred experience High school diploma or equivalent BLS Certification American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified CSPD technician Graduate of an accredited central sterile processing tech program Two years of experience as a sterile processing technician is required in an Ambulatory Surgery Centre or hospital experience is required. Experience as a surgical technologist, preferred. Knowledge of AAMI & AORN standards and recommendations. Clear understanding of sterilization process. Additional Information : Location : Houston, TX 77025 Job Type : 3 months contract assignment (conversion into permanent based on your work performance). Office Hours : Monday -Friday Pay Range : $18-23 / hrs. on W2 without benefits
