We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery unit. The ideal candidate will assess, coordinate, plan, and implement patient care with a strong emphasis on facilitating progress toward discharge and providing seamless transitions throughout the acute care stay. You will play a vital role in ensuring that competent and compassionate care is delivered consistently to all patients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and document care in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to effectively assess patient conditions.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care delivered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment to make informed patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as directed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for every patient.
- Direct and mentor ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).Current New York State Registered Nurse license required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained and maintained.Previous experience as a Patient Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.Strong desire for continuous education and improvement in job performance.Understanding of quality improvement concepts and the ability to apply them effectively in patient care settings.We appreciate your interest in joining Albany Medical Center.
