Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and active Epic proficiency.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting (733 staffed beds) operating as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to a sister campus depending on assignment

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending licensure is not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance prior to starting
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice (3 contracts total); after reaching the extension limit, a 6-month waiting period is required before reapplying
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a maximum of 4 days allowed; only 1 holiday can be approved
• Pre-start compliance modules are required (estimated 4–10 hours) and are completed prior to the assignment start date
