Reform Room is a modern Pilates studio opening in Lubbock, Texas, focused on intentional movement, strong community, and a high-quality client experience. We are currently in the pre-opening phase and building our founding leadership team.
Role Overview
Reform Room is seeking a Founding General Manager to lead studio operations from pre-opening through launch and ongoing day-to-day management. This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone with Pilates or boutique fitness experience who is excited to help build a studio from the ground up.
This role is contingent upon SBA loan approval and studio opening. The Founding General Manager will work closely with the Founder, who oversees finance, marketing, and growth strategy, while the GM owns daily operations and studio execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre‑opening studio setup, including operational planning and readiness
- Hire, onboard, schedule, and manage Pilates instructors and front‑of‑house staff
- Oversee class programming, scheduling, and quality control
- Manage day‑to‑day studio operations once open
- Deliver an exceptional member experience and support retention
- Establish and uphold studio culture, standards, and procedures
- Support membership growth and community engagement initiatives
- Serve as the primary on‑site leader and point of contact for staff and members
Qualifications
- Experience in Pilates, boutique fitness, or wellness studio operations
- Prior leadership experience (General Manager, Studio Director, Lead Instructor, or similar)
- Experience managing instructors or teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment
- Ability to take ownership and lead independently
Preferred but not required
- Pilates certification (Balanced Body, BASI, STOTT, or similar)
- Experience opening a new studio or location
- Background in membership‑based fitness models
- Full‑time role beginning at or near studio opening
- Opportunity for phased involvement pre‑opening
- Compensation to be discussed with finalist candidate
- Position is contingent upon funding and studio opening
